c.o.a.l

I was just wondering what others got for a max length for their 22-250 o.a.l. I measure and got 2.388 2.388 2.390 that is with three different bullets from the same box. I have a weatherby vanguard don't know any other info to enclose, oh my trim is 1.900 on the case the bullets are 55 gr fmjboat tail Hornady just wondering :)

That's not bad for OAL, all bullet Mfg, product varies in length slightly after seating the bullets. Your seating die doesnt seat off the end of the bullet, rather off the ogive, or curved side of the bullet. Its normal to get a slight variation in OAL, and your is only .002. That's vary common, and normal.

How well does your Vanguard shoot. I have an Rem ADL in 22-250. Apparently they made 2 barrel twists. I suppose 1-9 and 1-14. I must have the 1-9 because all my 52 grn bullets went sideways at 100 yds. After calling Sierra they recommended their 55 Grn blitz and 55 grn spitzer boatails. Bullets fly straight now, will try my 55 gn cast bullets and see what happens.
Forget measurung OAL. If you want to measure get a Davidsen comparator put them on a Chinese caliper and be amazed at how well you load, works on all small caliber and bullet combinations, will do a 50 but who cares.
