BVSS Varmint Stock Benchrest Adapter

Looking at prototype, you got the grain running the length which I'm thinking would provide less surface area in contact with bag.
Thinking it will slide pretty nice

Someone leaked this classified product to Savage shooters . Blah Blah Blah
;)

Ok here is what I have so far after testing the prototype.

I have decided to extend the sides higher to grab the upper radius and I added a squeeze to the rear so it will not require drilling any holes. It would simply requre removing the sling stud and using that bolt hole (which I think is 10-32---Anyone know?). I could do a two hole version if you want to drill, but I think the squeeze will work.

Who wants one? I need to test it.

I will be printing the BVSS in the morning. I am very excited!!! Apparently, there are quite a few folks with these rifles in the forum.

Let us get the fit tested, and I will start making them. I also received pictures for the Bobby Hart, which is close but will require its own version.
My Bobby Hart is really nothing like my BVSS stock. Much more rounded and tapered, and exactly like my EABrown thumbhole.
Nonetheless, if you make it, they will come.

I'd be a willing guinea pig for the BVSS tryout. 6.5 CM on a Caldwell BR rest. I can make a mold of the BVSS stock with bondo if that'll help.

You see that pic that Jim sent me? If the flash is on and the focus is sharp you would be surprised how close I can get the profile, as I import the pic and over draw it.

I really think I have the profile super close. Just need to test the squeeze bolt idea.

Of course I can always just drop that idea and use two bottom bolts, but it would be nice to not drill another hole.

Mine fit right on although the radius is was off a little bit no big deal

Addendum- I think it needs the bottom 2 screws/ bolt for stability. I will pick up a smaller longer bolt to replace the swivel stud connection tomorrow while I'm replacing the action screws

I think it will need to be about an inch longer if we continue having the rider go to the end of the front of the stock. Now, as it appears in these pictures, when the stock is on the rest stop the rider is nearly past the bag.

I think the squeeze version will work for the rear of the rider and the countersunk socket head cap screw for the front. But I would be willing to admit if it did not work either!!! It would be really nice not to have to drill the stock for another screw if at all possible.

One inch longer would be perfect I've already drilled the second hole in my stock. I'm heading to Tacoma Screw this morning for a front bolt I'll let you know what size and length
