I remember as a kid in Virginia having to fill out this big "book" at the store counter when I purchased ammo, especially .22's as they could be used in a rifle or a handgun. That was in the early 70's. The days before computers. Like who would ever catalog that info. I guess somewhere in a ATF warehouse there are thousands of decade old books filled with the names and addresses of 14 year old kids buying .22's to go squirrel hunting.

It could happen in any one of your states. Even the “free” states like Texas, SD, Montana, etc. All it takes is a majority federally that wants to regulate your firearms and components. They can ban “assault rifles”, mandate magazine restrictions, NICS checks on ammo, one gun per month. The whole wish list. It doesn’t matter who your state legislature or governor is as firearms are under federal control. So don’t get too comfortable if you live in one of those states. Just realize how close we are right now to that reality. One word: VOTE.

Not everyone has a choice my friend. Family comes before everything. The vast majority of upstate is rural and filled with God fearing conservatives who love to shoot, hunt, trap, and fish. Without NYC, New York would be a solidly red state with no chance of going blue.
Many years ago I moved out of New York state (Nassau County). Best thing about NY is seeing it in your rear view mirror as you leave for good
