Buying Ammo in NYS

Not everyone has a choice my friend. Family comes before everything. The vast majority of upstate is rural and filled with God fearing conservatives who love to shoot, hunt, trap, and fish. Without NYC, New York would be a solidly red state with no chance of going blue.
Its like the majority of california- ruled by a few areas full of idiots. Only thing is once those idiots start affecting your life it doesnt matter who is around you and what their mentality is. You could live 250mi from the nearest libtard, but when you have to live by their rules it just doesnt matter how far away you are. Theres a reason you cant find a u-haul in new york or cali.

Just give them your voting ID and tell them you are self employed. Or get out and vote ( not saying you don't) or move and it the state fall off into the ocean like CA needs to. Just an earthquake away I hope!

When do they start breaking down doors and searching houses?
They don't have to if you get the Ammunition License, Semi Auto Rifle License or a NYS Pistol Permit, it gives them full rights to come in anytime they want to inspect storage, security of ammo and firearms.

I find it troubling that these fellow New Yorkers don't know these BS laws that have been shoved down our throats.

No idea why anyone would want to live there these days! It is a shame as the state is truly beautiful.
This will shock you and a select group of this sites members:
NOT EVERYONE HAS A CHOICE

Really glad everything worked out for you.

Nassau and Suffolk counties are on Long Island for those that are unfamiliar. Those are perhaps some of the most congested counties outside of the cities. I don't blame anyone for getting out of there. As others have said, it's very difficult to leave the ground that you have played on as a child, worked extremely hard on with many generations of your ancestors, many whom are gone now, and to leave family that remains. What is steering the direction of the state, in an undesirable direction IMO, are the populations in the cities. In terms of area, these are small portions of an otherwise beautiful state, and I mean this from the perspective of the outdoors, and countryside. Giving up on what I consider home, would be a very difficult thing to do. I get the logic that the length of our lives is very finite, so we should enjoy ourselves, but in terms of leaving NY state, I'm not willing to concede just yet. The other thing is, if anyone thinks that what is happening in NY, or has happened, could not happen in their state, at some point, is just overly optimistic.

Getting back to the OP's post, many retailers have no idea what they are supposed to record. The big stores likely got direction from their legal departments, but the small, local shops have not received clear instruction. That may change, but at the present time, they are in limbo. Delivery of components has remained unchanged.

Oh without a doubt. I had a ton of fun exploring Peconic Bay and running over to Shinnecock to fish. Pontoon booze cruise is awesome, but not the same.

I live in NY, on Long Island actually. Been here all of my life except for my college years. I have two daughters here who are married and have good jobs. Their husbands also have good jobs here. My 3 grandsons are in pre-K here. Even though my wife and I are now retired, we aren't going anywhere. You couldn't pull my wife away from those 3 little dudes with a freight train. We are a VERY close family.

I'm not too worried about ammo because I've been an avid reloader since 1978 when I worked in a LGS. But ... the regulations here are like a noose around your neck. They just keep tightening. Hopefully, the shooting community won't fall off the gallows.

NY has 18 million people. Half live in NYC where the Democrats have a 7 to 1 advantage. Despite the huge disadvantage, the Republicans have a chance because even the Dems are sick of all of this woke crap and rampant crime. Hochul and Zeldin are only a few points apart in the poles. If we can only get our side into the poles, we can take back NY.

I’ve lived in the city, long lsland, and now upstate.
I agree with you and now it is a 50/50 split.
Two problems. The people upstate have a horrible voter turnout and the people in the city (some) vote many times.
