Buying 6mm BR

I have a question about barrel twist in 6mm br. I 'm wanting to buy a 6mmbr cal. rifle. I own 2 TC encore rifles in 25-06 and muzzle loader. The logical thing to me is to purchase a barrel from TC's custom shop in 6mmBr cal. They only come in 1:10 barrel twist. Iwill be shooting bullet weights only in the 80 - 90 gr range ( i have a 223 for lighter bullets). I don't plan to use it for nothing but target and varmit shooting and to introduce a small child to deer hunting -(90 gr.) Would the 1:10 rifling work for this configuration or should i look into other manufac.s of encore barrels? TC's custom shop is much cheaper than some of the others with the same features. Thanks

i have a 6br barrel from ebaco with a medium contour,it is blued has about 500 rounds thru it and shoots 80@105 bullets very well. i want 250.00 plus shipping.

A 10tw would work great for what you are going to do. A 10tw will shoot light bullets up to 95 VLD berger's. Also, 100gr. big game hunting bullets.

I have several different twist barrels all are bolt guns. 1-8 I think the best all around twist for the 6 BR, I have one, and one in 1-12 twist and one 1-14 twists. I had a 1-12 Bullberry barrel for one of my encores, w/hanger bar and it was only a fair to good shooter. I mean 3/4" at 100 yards. Unless you buy a custom barrel such as Bullberry, or MGM, and an OTT which I have in 1-14 Twist 16.25 " barrel that would outshoot the 1-12 twist rifle on the Encore at 100 yards if I did my part. You can't go wrong with a 6BR from varmits to deer, for deer I would want the 1-8 twist to shoot the heavist bullet available. Good Luck Lou
