i just bought 2 lbs of varget at Beikirks in e.rochester ny for a 6mmbr encore i have. i was shooting rl15 with some success, as soon as i loaded the std 30gr varget 87 gr hornady vmax and the groups shrunk to .625 and i think i can get better with some 90 gr bergers

Varget is pretty hard to come by anywhere now. Found a local place that sold powder I didn't know about and they told me they had 7 1 lb. cans of Varget. Went rushing over there, about 30 miles away, and they had only 5 cans left by then. Needless to say, I bought up all I could. Waiting to get by home and pick up my 6BR from the gunsmith and try it out. I got both RL15 and Varget to try out. When I had a 308, it seemed to prefer RL15 over Varget. Will see what the 6BR likes.

i live about 25 miles east of rochester, in Newark we have a nice 100/200 yrd range 2 miles from my house. i started checking the V max bullets and they vary about .01 in length. quite pitiful i would say, i bought some 90 grain bergers and check them and they only varied .002-.003. i just shot some 30 grains of Varget and some berger jumped about .005-.01 and i had 3 touching at 100 yrds sweet. let me know when u are in the roch area

I no longer live in Rohester Area...We live in Nashville, TN,
but I grew up in Newark. Lived on Vienna Road, went to
Roosevelt Elementary School. Healy was not principle yet, but coached swim team in High School.
I sometimes visit area, Oldest son lives in Geneva.
What road is range on...I should recognize the name,I think),
if it is in Newark.

no way too cool u lived in newark, the range is at the newark gun club, the made a nice 200 yrd range in back if the club house. it is a pretty nice setup. i grew up in palmyra moved to newark about 15 yrs ago. did u grad. from newark
