Bushnell offers a scope XRS Elite Tactical 4.5-30x50. 1/10 miladj. Side focus. Expensive $2,000. Does any one have ANY experience with this scope? Just so no one thinks I've lost my mind this question is based on my looking through a couple of Bushnell (far less expensive and lower variable power) and I was amazed at the clarity. Shooting is always off a bench, always informal, and 100 to 200 yards. If I can ever get a weather break and get some more trees down it would stretch to 300 but that's it.

I would suggest the sightron s111 in 8-32x50 or 56mm cant qite remember but a friend of mine has two of them and the mildot is not good for any eyes but the crosshair model is as nice or nicer than the bushnell. They seem to go for around 800.00

I have a Bushnell 6500 4.5X30 power it is very clear better than my Slll 8x32x56 Sightron. You can buy these used between $650.00- $800.00 on this site. They are Quite a scope for the money. They are as clear as my BR Nightforce scopes.

Leopold- Vortex-Sightron all have great warranty's regardless of 1st or 21st owner
there's a reason for that
they make GOOD products

Bushnell products are warranted only to original owner with proof of purchase -per their webpage-
there's a reason for that too

I stopped buying Bushnell optics - and I have a lot of them - when they refused to honor a binocular/RF warranty about 6 years ago.

The bushy tactical elite scopes are a great line. Liberty Optics will likely beat the crap out of that price you mentioned. I have a 6-24 (a couple of quality levels lower than the one you mentioned and it is a great scope. I would likely stay with the 3-21 tho and have heard great things about them you can get them in 30 or 34 mm and lit or standard. the long range tactical guys win with these. the g2 recticle very nice.

If you are shooting at 300 yds and less, you really probably don't need anything over 24x. There are a bunch of good scopes in that range and a lot lower than 2k. My suggestion is to hit a shop that has a BUNCH of quality scopes and spend a couple hrs looking thru them.

In regards to your last sentence : The scope I returned to Bushnell was over 12 years old, I have no idea how many owners, and there sure was no receipt. I did have to send $10.00 (for return postage). What they replaced it with was got me started looking at (and thru) Bushnell scopes. There 'proof of purchase' is for electronic items (rangefinders etc). Anyway they warrantied and replaced my scope beyond what I had imagined. I really returned 'junk' to them.
Just wanted to mention the above. I am not trying to talk myself into one and thanks to all who commented. From their site:

What to Include

Complete and print This form and rubber band a copy to each product being sent to the service center. Using the Product Repair Request Form will assure your repair is processed efficiently.
A copy of your dated Proof of Purchase is required for electronic products without lifetime warranties. If applicable, a copy of your extended or additional warranty coverage through Bushnell or Registria.
A check or money order made payable to Bushnell for the return shipping and handling fee of $10.00 for each product. For telescopes, please remit $15.00 due to their additional size and weight. ** No return shipping/handling fee is charged for warranty repairs of Bushnell Elite riflescopes and binoculars. California residents are excluded from paying return shipping and handling fees on warranty repairs only.

The ers model the op asked about is nowhere near the same as the 6500 4.5-30 model. The ers is usually around 2100. I think for 300 yds and under bench/casual shooting the ers is overkill. It is designed for PRS and tac matches. Sightron s3 8-32 are great scopes that track good. The new bushnell tacticals are damned tough, check out lowlights vid on the hide. He attempted to destroy it, even going as far as blowing it up with tannerite targets. Scope was only about 1 moa off after the explosion. Bushnell ain't the walmart scope anymore atleast their tac, dmr, or ers lines.

I don't think anybody who had/has a clue equates "Bushnell" with Walmart, any more than any other brand. Many scope manufacturers, including Leupold, Nikon, Bushnell, Burris, Weaver, and others make various lines of scopes, at various price points, to serve various markets. Bushnell's top-of-the-line product is comparable to almost any scope against which it's designed to compete, i.e. the $2k+ market. And their low-end models are designed to compete against other low-end models from other makers, like the Leupold Rifleman.
