Bushing or non-bushing FL die

I disagree respectfully with the idea that a bushing die doesnt help a no turn neck. I use it in my 6br and the bushing die allows me to set back the shoulder while getting some light neck tension. It works for me.

It works for me

That is all that really matters

Custom dies from your fired brass are the ultimate answer

But all these different methods can create very accurate ammo

I have tried them all

Right now i am trying John Whidden's new full length resizing die with his expander ball kit. Adjustable neck tension with a full length resizing die. Jury is still out.

Thats what I have now.

It can still work! You are able to control the amount on neck tension the DIE imparts.

The 0.002" of neck thickness variance in a piece of brass may negate whatever "neck tension" you were hoping to achieve.

If my desired accuracy requirements are 1/3MOA or better I'm going to neck turn. If not I'm probably just going to use a factory full length die to keep it simple.

I tend to disagree that a concentric FL die with an expander ball won't induce runout. After sizing a cartridge in the die, when pulling the expander ball back through the neck, even a properly lubed case takes a lot of effort. I have a hard time believing that the force is evenly applied on the inside of the neck and at the neck/shoulder junction.

Just created my first 5 rds as a test with the bushing die. Threw them on the sinclair concentricity gauge and the run out was less than usual for sure. I mean the needle did not quiver. Range on Wednesday and we will see if there is any difference at all. Straightest bullets I've made so far. Used 2 LC brass, 2 Lapua Blue box and 1 winchester.
