bullets for 223/ 9 twist

In my 22" Savage Stevens 223 with a 1/9 twist, I found the following loads produced excellent accuracy:

Hornady 75 gr HPBT, 22.6 gr XBR8208
Hornady 75 gr HPBT, 24.5 gr Varget

Both loads are sub-MOA out to 500 yards and are 2700 fps at the muzzle.

Factory savage 1 in 9. 69 SMK's and 25.3 Varget is the best I have come across so far.

After trying many bullets and powders this load is best day to day for me too. Now long range is a different matter.

I use the same 25.3 grs Varget and the 69 MK in my AR 20" barrel. Very accurate.

I have a 1-9 twist Savage 22" shooting 68 Hornaday bthp's. I have not had this any further then 215 yards, but with Ramshot Exterminator it is a tack driver.

Have a 26" 9T Hart on my AR 223AI, and the best hunting bullets I ever used for long-range were the 53 V-Max, 65 SGK, and now the 69 TMK. The best long-range accuracy bullet I ever shot out of it was the 65 JLK Low Drag.

I shoot weekly in a competition 100,200 & 300 yds. a fellow there shoots a 1-9 twist and with the 73gr Bergers, its a rare thing if Fred is not in the winners circle.

The Berger 73's worked best in my 1-9 twist Savage BVSS. I tried everything from 69's to 80.5 Fullbores. Consistent 1/4 to 1/2 MOA.

I just bought a Savage M11 predator and working up a load for her. I have Canadian mil spec brass, IVI08 so far, she is showing promise with hornady 55 gn fmjbt and 25 gns of varget with a federal primer. We don't seem to have the choices that my US cousins have. But we have lots of time to look, test and reload.

I got a new gun to shoot this year and plan to give Fred a run for his money this year. It also uses the 73g Bergers
