Bullet Shipping Issues -- Packaging

Maybe one day your packages will be under 24 hr video surveillance. The time it is picked, packaged and tossed into a cart, loaded on a truck and gently placed on your front porch. that will cut out all the bs.
Amazon will most likely provide this first.
I get it- there is no 100%. Maybe my post was just a vent, because i thought I got lucky. And, I have def been spoiled with good service.

The better vendors use USPS priority mail.
Paid five dollars for USPS certified mail to mail send a check for our hunting lease across the state two weeks ago, no one can tell me where it is. Tracking feature covered about a 24 hour period, started a claim two days ago and the post office called me and said give it a week or two.

I have noticed all of our shipping methods UPS, FedEx, USPS, and truck lines have just gone to hell in the last few years, late, lost, or damaged is the norm.

I'm always nervous when I see fedex is handling anything I order. I wouldn't trust them to handle a piece of paper correctly. I swear they get training loading baggage at o'hare airport.

That's the upside. The downside is that they will probably also watch you unpackage it, take your shower, put it on, take it off, and record all other before and after aspects of the transaction.

"No child left behind" is now in puberty.
Just wait until the little brat gets grown!

No accountability, is the norm. I could elaborate but we all know....

My bullets are delivered FedEx. People seem to love it.

Of course, they are packed by adults.

By far the worst and most expensive, overpriced service is US POSTAL

A couple weeks ago I ordered 3,000 rounds of Eley .22 ammo from a vendor who I won’t name. I was fortunate they arrived intact. They had wrapped the six bricks together with plastic shrink wrap and wrapped that bundle with the bubble that has large (1” or so) bubbles. Every bubble was popped by that 17 pound bundle of ammo. The ammo was free to roll all around the box.

I let them know they may want to re-consider their packing materials.

Dave.

I just received two boxes of bullets from Midway loose in a USPS "Flat Rate" padded envelope. AAaaaarrgh! Arrived remarkably undamaged (kinda hard to hurt Nosler Partitions). USPS did good, As for Midway, C'mon man!!!

It’s unconscionable that the people whom pack items have NO consideration of the carriers.
It is management that allows this shi7. Only thing important is sales. “Oh we’ll work on reducing the amount of damages.” BS!!!

Today's delivery. UPS. This was packaged very poorly from Precision Reloading. Good thing the Sierra boxes of five were shrink wrapped.

Yep, it's a mixed bag...had several boxes of bullets that were lost forever...one was replaced at the non sale price had to pay the difference, one was reimburse to the credit card...filed lost package with post office, who deemed it wasn't their fault.
Late deliveries by days, etc...but lately its been better...for awhile.
Bullets are heavy and the postal delivery person tends to "drop" them off...with a big hole in the side of the box and most of the bullets missing, or some broken open boxes and a few bullets missing ...

I had the same, an we probably ordered from the same vendor. Ordered a variety of Eley to try, came shrink wrap and a bubble wrapped. Box was too big and bubble’s popped. Silly me ordered again with the one that grouped well. Same wrapping and bubbles popped also.

Don't know about bullets, but I can tell you exactly how many 250 Savage cases will fit, packed in neat alternating layers like sardines, in a USPS small flat rate box.

One reason being, for those of us who aren't shipping behemoths, USPS priority mail is about half the cost of Fedex or UPS ground.
I have had good luck with all my priority packages especially bullets from several vendors. They always have extra tape on them. I just received bullets from Blue Collar back in NC to here in northern Utah in less than four days. It sat in my local post office for almost a day and a half. It has extra tape all around. It was smashed really flat on one end but no leaks.
