bullet runout measurements

so simple but i'm not really sure where on the bullet most measure runout. i have been doing so on the ogive beyond the bearing surface. the farther toward the bullet's tip, the more a very slight wobble seems to increase, giving a higher runout . i can get a very low or zero runout if i measure off the bearing surface but a .001-.003 off the ogive. where should the measurement be taken. i have noted a runout of .002 will often correct to zero when chambered .020 thous into the lands. thanks.

I adjust the dial pointer on my Sinclair gauge so it's making contact on the ogive of the bullet at the approximate same location where the leade of the rifling makes contact.

I would think that would be the most meaningful location to take the reading.

My understanding is the ogive is the entire rounded surface of the bullet, or any curved pointed object. I measure mine right at or just in front of where the ogive transitions into the flat section of the bullet. Like Frank I think this is the most meaningful location to measure.
