Coriolis has both vertical and horizontal components but I believe spin drift is a horizontal phenomenon only. I have heard people claim there is a vertical component to it but considering the physics involved the claim of vertical doesn't make sense to me.

Wouldn't the direction the range is facing?? we aren't shooting artillery..... jim

When u shoot 1 k distance the bullets time of flight is around 1.5 seconds. The earth rotates in that time and changes ur poi. U are correct in that the direction u shoot ( n,s,e,w) will determine ur deflection. Usually 1 moa left or right.
