bullet comparator insert closest to true leade diameter

I use an old Stoney Point tool and am very aware that the comparator inserts' diameters are not representative where the ogive of any bullet in any caliber insert I have meets the lands of any barrel I have. Besides Bob Green's tool who makes a comparator tool more closely approximating the correct ogive-leade contact diameter?

Just have your smith make a shoulder/bump/seating depth/neck diameter gauge by cutting a short piece of your barrel stub with the reamer used to chamber your rifle. The reamer is run in about halfway up the shoulder.

I was looking for off the shelf tools. The custom solutions are elegant but pricey and unfortunately I don't have the chamber reamers and left over barrel stock for all the rifles I load for.

You misunderstand the purpose of Bob Green's tool.
Toby's advice leads to the ONLY way to make nose datums representative of actual contact (for a newly finished barrel).

But in reality you don't have to obtain a representative datum. Just at any reproducible measure that shoots well.
