Bullet coating service

thanks for the advice Cody, i will try the heating up method and not so much canuba. the only way i could get canuba down here in aus was in a block form and i then scrape an amount of into the container prior to tumbling. bit primative, but thats the way we are down here, ( carnt even be trusted with a semi), also mate how long should i tumble the things for waxing.
regards pete

Mine have been for about 45-60 seconds. Roughly the time it takes to put a new batch of bullets to get moly coated. Check with NECO they may be able to export there carnuba, there's is a fine lab grade

Looks like a pound goes for $54.00. Thats cheaper than the pound I bought five years ago I think.
Contrary to the application procedures on the linked page it can also be applied just like HBN. No wax like moly.

PS If you don't know about lowerfriction.com then you really need to know about lowerfriction.com ;)

Cody, would it be possible to coat bullets such as Barnes with hbn? I would wonder if it would build up in the grooves. Does a load have to be retuned when the bullets are coated? Does velocity increase? Fouling decrease?

Riley, from my experience with moly and HBN you actually want a *slight* build up, this is what acts as the lubricant. If you take it all out it takes about 20 rounds to foul the barrel with the coating so I don't scrub my barrel until when I plan to store the rifle for a period if time. with coating you actually need to increase powder to obtain the velo you had with naked bullets. There is substantial decrease in copper fouling with coatings. I clean about every three matches instead of every matches. I could go longer, I see no sines of deceeased accuracy when I begin to clean. But the Barnes are no problem to coat! I think I've done all the major brands and they all coat great with my system.
