Bullet coating service

Cody, will you explain your analogy?

I believe what he means is, "Why rev your engine up higher using a certain oil to lubricate it when you can achieve the same traveling speed with the other oil at lesser rpm and engine wear."

Cody is a good kid and I know that he will do a good job with doing this.. so if anyone that does not want to mess with the process, I would say that Cody is the way to go.

Do you by chance want to part with the Moly or if you have any Carnuba wax?
Cody, post your address . I have a 3oz jar of Carnauba wax I will send you. I have on need for it and don't like to see anything to go to waste.
Mike

Not a thing, I've had it for five years and only used a pinch out of it. I use wet moly now and don't need it. NECO laboratory grade. As soon as I find a small box I'll send it to you. Mike

Hey Cody, the wax is the NECO method which is the norm for moly coating. I have a tendency to over do everything and that won't work with the wax. I found that the slightest trace coating was the way to go. Mike

I found that out the hard way the first time as well. Like you said a little goes a LONG way with the wax. Ive gotten to where I only add more wax to the drum after every other coating. If I apply each time, bullets are rough and speckled with wax.

Cody are you getting any work from this thread? Your price is as good as it gets. I paid plenty more than what you charge in the past. Good luck my friend and God be with you and your family. Mike

I get some off and on. I've had a few guys that are stocking up before they send me anything. 2k or more is what there trying to send me at once. The customers I do get all come back so I'm assuming my product must be pretty good...but you know what happens when we assume lol

Mike, thank you for the bump! God bless, hopefully we will meet up on the firing line one day.

I like to see a young man that's willing to work. When I was younger than you I was taught that a man that rolled up his sleeves will never lose his shirt. Good work ethics and a desire for self improvement is a solid foundation that all successful people possess. Especially shooters!! Mike

Of coarse the real success in life is to live it the way you want.

Thank you Mike, I know what you mean, I know plenty of people my age that think work is one of those bad 4 letter words, never quite can understand why. Im just blessed I have a opportunity to make a little extra gun money, working around something I love.

gday Cody, i do some moly coating for myself and a few others. i would like to know if you have perfected the canuba wax application, i always seem to get spotted looking finish with only a small amount of wax dust and short 2 min tubble time, am i doing something wrong here.
i have been using the water method of applying the moly and it works a treat and stays on heaps better than the dry method. they look really great but then the canuba takes away the great finish.
also do we really need the canuba?? do all the major companies use it. is there any advantage of the stuff over a good moly finish.
kind words from Mike, great to see somebody helping others, seems this sport is full of people like that,
regards pete

Hello pete! yea, thats the great thing about the shooting sports its full of some of the nicest people youll ever meet! I've tried the water method, it turned out *ok* compared to the traditional method. To me the water made a little more mess. I've gotten good results using the Berger method(I believe it's listed on here) you don't need the wax but it makes handling them so much smoother and cleaner.

If you look at the Sierra or Berer that come moly coated there more of a dark grey. Before I apply wax mine look nice and shinny. Once te wax is applied it turns to that dark grey, some speckaling but not much. One thing that has helped in all my coatings, wether it be Moly, the carnuba or even HBN, is heat. I bake my bullets for 2-3 minutes on low before I apply moly or HBN. Before wax I heat in the wax container with a blow dryer. One other thing I've found with wax is apply wax after every second coating in the container. If you apply every time it will become very lumpy when applied. So I'll coat 200 bullets in lots of 100 with .1 grains of wax. So much of it is left in the wax application bowl after the first set of 100 goes in. Hope this helps!
