Building the home rifle range

I've worked as a carpenter for over 30yr, the company I worked for was a full service
I was fortunate to have the real old school tradesmen brought me up..I can build anything..unless there is an motor in it..thats not my thing..I know my limitations..im at the othere end houses, concrete, tile, trim, driveways,sidewalk..
I just say that because I understand alot more of what you guys are saying then you probably know...

This is what im talking about...what is it like to shoot at one of these...will it quiet down my shooting so my neighbors don't get upset when I have a 4hr shooting day...hahaha..

Please explain this tube, what it does, if it works..or if it makes life hell and is useless..

If possible I would like to direct nose down range with out dirt berms running down range..or walls..forget that..im in a forest and can do what I want...but I care about the people who live around me and would like to attempt to control the noise level
Silencer is out of the question..im in NY..
Shhhhhhh..dont tell anyone...hahahaha...bang,bang,bang..

here is my hillbilly version. blocks stacked with only landscape adhesive. spent atv tires, each one with a couple of 'pool noodles' inside. (i tried left over foam carpet pad first, but the mice and bumble bees like it too much.) the blue baffle on the end has not yet been cut for the firing 'port'. far end of the tire rack also serves as chrono mount. everything just set in place with a 'press fit'. neighbor said from his side of the road it sounded about like a hickory nut hitting a tin roof. that was before the addition of another arm load of noodles from the dollar store. Most folks do not realize that FL, where I live, has very strict trespass laws, requires written permission to be on another person’s property, and trespass with a firearm on Ag property is a felony. Shooting across or onto another’s property in FL is consider the same as trespass.
I have a 15 foot high dirt berm at the end of my 250 meter rifle range because of that statute. Suggest you look up the trespass statutes for your state before you assume anything.

most important, considering the limited visibility downrange, the property is isolated and controlled, so i don't need to worry about the line being clear. i mostly work on load development, bench technique and rimfire ammo selection there, so once settled in there is very little difference. if it was a plinking range it would likely be somewhere between a nuisance and an annoyance however.

it lets me step 20' from the corner of my porch and get some 'work' done quickly.

Thats the information I'm looking for..
I like the old tire rack Idea with the plastic black ridged drain pipe, and pool noodles..
Then it could be easily rolled out of the way when plinking.. or readjusted for shooting at different distance.. I think im going to go 250yr..
That should give me 200yrd shooting, 50 yrd for back stop..
I'll cut and pull the trees, pile them up..grade rage and pile dirt over it all .....nothing will get through that....I believe I need pea gravel about 24" in depth behind targets..I believe that method is used for up over 50BMG caliber by the NRA, or military..something like that ..I was told at our gun club when they designed the back stops..
