It’s a Shehane Tracker that I have had for some time. It’s something to start with, since it is not much use to me for much else.I like that stock.

You’ll like that combination.I’m considering doing this same thing except I was thinking I would do a 300 Norma magnum shooting a 245 Berger hybrid.
Finding the components is difficult.
Nice.I fireformed a couple of cases yesterday after our Match at Tomball.
The sizing Die I made is going to work great.
I have 900 Berger 300 grain bullets and 80 pieces of new Lapua brass, the dies are ready, I still need the optics.Making The full length Sizing Die For My 338 Lapua Ackley Improved.
I decided to give this a go. I patterned this after a Redding “S” Die. I got a piece of O-2 Tool Steel. I had to hand grind a boring bar to bore the hole on the correct taper plus form the 40 degree shoulder. I used the taper attachment. The taper is .020 in 2 inches. I think I got the taper...forum.accurateshooter.com
I will probably go with the March Genisis. The only draw back I can see in this package is the cost. You can mount it on a Zero Rail, the reticle is always optically centered, and the optics are the best.
It can be sighted for 200 yards or 2000 yards.
A fellow at the range yesterday suggested I mount the barreled action in a chassis instead of the Shehane Tracker. Why?
He said it would “look the part” more than the Shehane.
I would keep it in a stock personally. I dont like the vibrations from a chassis personally. A lot of guys would disagree but I've shot both. If I was doing it over, I'd look seriously at the McCarty stock from Foundation. I've shot a couple and am amazed how much they soak it up. Mine are in Stock in the picI fireformed a couple of cases yesterday after our Match at Tomball.

Stock or chassis doesn’t matter to me as long as there’s enough adjustment to get it how I like.I would keep it in a stock personally. I dont like the vibrations from a chassis personally. I am looking to install an adjustable comb and adjustable recoil pad on the Shehane Stock.Stock or chassis doesn’t matter to me as long as there’s enough adjustment to get it how I like.
You can see how moondog has his stock setup like my chassis to get the barrel lined with the shoulder.I am looking to install an adjustable comb and adjustable recoil pad on the Shehane Stock.
It involves mounting some tubes in the rear with side locks.
I could take some measurements and cut a recess in the top of the butt and mound an adjustable vertical comb in the same manner.
I will do the adjustable recoil pad first, then see what would be the best approach on the comb.
Rad systems and cheek piece hardware don't like to play well together so to speak.I am looking to install an adjustable comb and adjustable recoil pad on the Shehane Stock.

Probably you should thread an eight ball for a bolt knob as well!I fireformed a couple of cases yesterday after our Match at Tomball.

I agree with Tom, mine took 2-3 firings before I ever touched the shoulder or body.
I was tempted to try the Vit powder, but it meters like Lincoln logs out of my measure. I've got enough 33 for a couple of barrels. After that, I'll move to the vit.
My problem too! I would have to go to Eastern Kentucky on an old strip mine to find a place to shoot!places to enjoy
