building a custom hog gun and need some help

Dave, Thanks for the invite but unfortunatly I cannot make it to the shoot on the 14th. Your kindness sets a great example that hopefully others will follow. I know, should I get more serious about the sport i would like to get others involved too. Thank you again hopefully I can go to one in the future.

I do have another question that I would like some opinions on. What is the best course of action for having a rifle put together. meaning, is it better to purchase a barrel send that to the action manufacturer have the barell installed by them and the have the barreled action sent to a stock maker to be fitted. OR have all of the parts sent to a gunsmith of your liking and have them assemble everything. Thanks again for your help.

Is anyone using Stiller D' Back reciever for 6BR or 6mm Dasher. I would like to hear how you like it?
I have not used the D'Back but I do shoot a Diamondback. The D'Back is 1/2 inch shorter.
The Diamondback is an awesome ss round action. Mine has a drop port.

I would say go with a "reputable" gunsmith and have them assemble the rifle for you. They could thread, chamber, and crown the barrel for you along with fitting it to the reciever. After that they could bed the action to the stock of your liking. Don't forget you need to get a trigger too. A Jewel would be the sure thing if you're going with a 700 clone action. Good luck with your build!

Lamar, I have a Stiller D'Back and I think it's a super action. Very, very smooth. John.
