Building a BAT actioned rifle. I am open to caliber suggestions.

I want to build a rifle with a polished BAT S or SV action. Sheshane stock or similar. This will be a prairie dog/bench rifle. Weight is not an issue. I would like to keep it under 13 pounds.

Caliber is my obstacle to overcome before I start.

I have 13 rifles chambered in the 17 cals. I think I have all the 17s I need. I also have 20 VT, .204 Ruger and 20BR.
With this said I will limit my calibers to the 204 and 224 calibers.
I am leaning toward a 22BR or 22 Dasher. I have considered the 20-250 or 20-222.

I look forward to your suggestions.
If anyone wants to part with a BAT action or Sheshane style stock contact me.

Thanks,
BHB

Uuuh, have you considered the 6mmBR?? :D Plenty of reasons:
Great cartridge to just buy the components, load and shoot.
Very accurate.
Lite recoil.
Plenty of bullets available.
great Lapua brass.
Multiple primers available.

AND,,,, last but not least,,,,, a Wealth of info right here on this website!!!

Bob,
I am with TheBlueEyedBear, the 6BR and the 6BR IMP are the most accurate round made. friend of mine has PD kills out to 1400yds with a Dasher. But if you are set on 22. The 22BR or 22Dasher would be great.

After I got the distance and windage
dialed in it only took 5 or 6 shots.

I also have to agree with Mark, and the bear. The 6BR is dam hard to beat for any situation. Think about it, It is capable of shooting groups in the 1's at 100 yards and it is also capable of shooting 2 Inches or better at 600 yards, and even further. Plenty of hunting bullets out there as well. Dies are easy to come by, as is brass. It is quite possible, that the 6BR is the perfect cartridge!! Lee
