Building a 20 cal

I am going to build either a 204 or a 20 TAC and was wondering if you all have a pet length of barrel that seems to squeeze the best performance from these little rascals.

It all depends on what your going to use the rifle for. Both cartridges will perform with anything from 24" to 28" barrel. If your going to use it as a coyote calling rifle I'd go for a LV 20Tac @ 25", if it's going to be a bench gun for prairie dogs go no shorter then 26" in a 204. My p-dog walking rifle is a compact T/C 20 Tac wearing a 25" Virgin Valley bull barrel. My 204 is a 26" HV Rem. My 20 VarTarg is built on a Savage rblp target action set in a factory F class stock wearing a 28" HV Douglas from SSS and it's my favorite 20 caliber, at over 15lb there's so little movement you never fail to see your hits. Good luck with your build.

RJ
