Bug Salt Gun 2.0

Will have to get a old broom handle out for the upcoming season and see if it is better than the flyswatter. :p

Some barrels may like the Himalayan Pink Salt, but that increases your reloading expense I would think. Wonder if there is a difference in burn rates between the GV brand (Walmart) vs Laura Lynn (Ingles) vs Kroger brands of salts. o_O

On another gun forum I visit, there is a "dedicated" thread on everyone's favorite "carpenter bee" load for CF pistols. Not sure if someone has a load for semi's or not.

I was up in WYO. this past summer visiting relatives and my brother-in-law had one. Never seen or heard of them before. I had a BLAST shooting those pesky flies. However, I think the horse flies were all wearing full body armor because it didn't work on them.

Bought my father in law one. He's a grumpy old turd. He loves it!! Had so much fun I had to get one for myself. We live in travel trailers all summer so flys will drive a guy nuts. Doesn't work on the little Asian lady bugs unless you get them in the fly. I haven't tried anything other than regular table salt. The larger salts might work and might not

Couldn't get Kosher salt to pattern so just use table salt. For Carpenter bees, actually a moth, I use .22 birdshot from my S&W 617.

Cabelas "baseball " hat. If u time it right it will knock a carpenter bee down then stomp their a$$. I used to have the state record of 23 in 12 mins..

Bought my dad one for either Fathers Day or his birthday last year, he had a blast with it last year. I've read that you can load coarser salt in it for larger "game".

Has anyone actually tried this gun before? Does it work as advertised?

i saw that advertised so its good to see some real life info on it. I wonder about using it in the house and shooting salt all over-the vacuum might take care of it though

I had my chick get me one for my birthday in September, and finished out the fly season with it. It got to where I was leaving the doors open just to let more "game" in the house.

I can hardly wait for this coming season, and just hope that the game commission doesn't impose any restrictive rules or shorter seasons on my new sport. I'm pretty sure that they'll start requiring a tag or stamp. jd

Us grumpy old turds like to have fun too! He may have been more mellow before you married his daughter.:)
I've had more fun with him than all my other friends in my entire life!! He's my boss all summer long. That's when the grump comes out
