bucket list handgun

Hi all, I know everyone has a bucket list of some gun, hand gun or other.

My question is: When you realize your bucket list handgun, are you satisfied after waiting all that time to get your gun?

(Mine, on bucket list, Luger P08)

Sometimes our bucket list handgun doesn't turn out what we hoped it would be but not wishing to get that
incredible firearm of our dreams could be worst. I've had several that I just had to have over the years. My most recent a Sig P220 10mm hunter with Sig Camo finish with Sig Romeo sight. It was on the cover of one of the gun magazines. Imagine my surprise when I found out nobody makes a mounting plate for the Romeo for the P220. After a call to Sig they fessed up and said it was strictly a photo op for the new gun and they didn't know of who might be able to supply me with a mounting plate. And then there is that horrible trigger 7 pounds and nobody wants to touch it cause it voids the warranty. I found a mounting plate for a Burris thanks to Leupold who recommended EGW and I put a Burris Fast fire on it. I put it in the safe and have forgotten about it till now. I'm somewhat satisfied but a bit disappointed!

I've lusted for a Mauser C-96 "Broomhandle" for the longest time. Two requirements, It must be 9mm, and it must be shootable. I've passed on a couple .30 caliber ones, and one that had been welded shut. But, one of these days...
Also, it must not bankrupt me!

Filled mine a few years ago. Always wanted a 5-inch S&W 629. Had an opportunity to pick one up cheap and love it.
Also wanted a Ruger. 45 Colt. Filled that one by picking up a 7 1/2" that had spent life in a leather holster on a salt water boat. $25. Terrible external shape, but bore and chambers perfect. Lots of filing, polishing, chopping it to 4.25" , bluing and replacing parts (steel grip frame and ejector housing, oversize cylinder pin, grips and etc.) and I have the handgun I always reach for for field work. Can't think of any other I really lust for.

Wilson Combat 1911. Got it spec’ed my way. Not disappointed at all. It is by far my favorite.

Novak Browning High Power. Very nice, love it. Beautiful with the stippling and French Borders.

Pre-lock S&W 14. If only I could shoot as well it does.

It will probably be my last handgun but someday I'll acquire a Freedom Arms 97 in 357. My model 83 needs a little brother.

Colt Python Ultimate polished SS , Wilson Combat Protector, Freedom Arms .454 Feild Grade. Bought them all in the late 80s to mid 90s; knew once we started a Family that funds might not be justifiable for such extravagances. Never regretted it, and unlike other investments, has fairly kept up with inflation.
It has cost me more for the components to shoot them as much as I do than the initial purchase prices.
Do it now, not going to get any cheaper.

I have mu bucket list handguns, a 6 1/2 inch S&W Model 29, a S&W Model 52-1, and a early 7 3/8 inch S&W Model 41.
I have shot many thousands of rounds through them all, and I now need to decide which will be buried with me.

Thinking about, a Glock Mod 34, 9mm Compensated with, a Trijicon RMR, Red Dot sight, to shoot,.. steel Plates. Ahh,.. "just thinking" for, now, tho ! Do I,.. "need" it ??? LOL !

I was lucky enough to catch a Coonan actually in stock a couple years ago......Heck of a nice gun!

An MR-73 with a 4" barrel with adjustable sights, and a similar Korth to go with it.
A Les Baer Premier or comparable Wilson would be required to round out the pistol case of course

I have never owned a 1911. A young guy at work inherited one from his grandfather that was a pre war Gov. model with stag grips and allowed me to shot. I kinda liked it and think I want one. Maybe some thing practical like a stainless in 45acp.

My bucket list has been filled for a while. I have mid. 70's 8 3/8ths Python, 6" Diamond back, 4" Trooper 22lr. Commander, Officer's elite, Cowboy, Police Positive, Goverment 380, Agent, Hammerless 25 auto and a Buck Mark target 22lr. That is all I can list from memory, getting old.
What I would really like is a guarantied Short Range score winner, so I could prove there aint no such thing. Especially if I'm shooting it. ??

Where the Hell are the smileys?
Almost forgot I'm a Ct. guy can you tell.
