JIALITTE Rifle Scope Bubble Level for 1in / 30mm Tube

While there's no "bout-a-doubt it," you can't have cant, scope or rail levels are one of those items that are as useful (as we like to say in Maine) as tits on a bull! Not to mention it's something else to buy and something else that can come loose, break, and/or go wrong. Save your money (and sanity!), and just make sure the set up and its components (rest, bags, etc.) are square and straight to the rifle, and you're good to go.

This is what I always wondered too. If the scope reticle is level to the stock and action, shouldn’t the human eye be able to keep everything level by just keeping the reticle horizontal?

If this were a bench rest gun, I’d agree.

Is the level on my Seb bull tit useless?

I disagree. Shoot off a firing line made from coal slag and watch the whole rest settle unevenly over a 20 shot string plus sighters then comment about the utility of a rifle based level. A quick glance at the scope level will confirm if you are still level or developing a cant. My rest level cannot be seen from the firing position.

I use the little cheap (less than $15) scope levels all of the time. Most are attached to the rail. If nothing else it makes me consistent in the way I hold the rifle. If I close my eyes and settle down behind my rifle and get comfortable I'm usually canted about 30 degrees from the vertical to the right (Southpaw). I guess I could adjust the scope 30 degrees from the vertical axis of the rifle but I think that would drive me nuts and then it may only be 25 degrees or maybe 35 degrees depending on what I'm wearing. So, I have everything set as good as I can and use the level as a check. Works for me. ;)

When it comes to levels; on is on and when it is not it just ain't. When I am feeling rather patient I set my rest up with a Starret Cross Test level. Used them back in the day for tool grinding set ups.

Wow ! You guys mean to tell me that all those F-Class shooters at the Nationals this week wasted their money on every one of those scope levels ? Don't think so , Homer . Set up a TR rifle at BA , or any range , and it's all kind of "NOT" level , and your board can be tilted in any direction . I know , cause I shoot there 60-70 times a year . And I Have levels on both my F rifles . Guess I'm so dumb , I even put levels on my Open rest , too . Duhhhh .

Levels for your rest is a different thing than a level for crosshairs. If youre dialing in for different distances like going from mid to long range theyre handy. If you are at a fixed distance and not moving your scope or have sighter shots available a level is just a trinket
