In a later post you said that you like 237 bore barrels. The brux barrels are usually .236 bore barrels. was the brux barrel you set a record with a .236 or .237 bore? thanks sir. lee

Two of the best reasons to live in Wisconsin- cheese and barrels!! and we have an abundance of both. Ken and Norm(and Kyle for the past year or so) are right down the road from us and they put their heart and soul into every barrel that goes out the door. If there is even one little thing about a blank that they dont like, it will NOT go out that door to a customer. Even if it is something they know will not affect accuracy it still will not go out, they usually end up using those on there own guns. That is just how they are.

I have been using their barrels for over 3 years now and I honestly dont. think I could use anything else at this point. Everything about them is generally better or at the very least equal to any barrel I have ever owned. Every Brux I have owned uop to this point has cleaned better than anything else that I have owned (or still do). Anyways you get the picture. They really do a great job.

All that being said,as many of you know, there are more than a handful of barrel makers here in Wisconsin and they all really do great work. As far as working for or with Boots goes I am sure who has or hasn't, but one thing is for sure and that is that Boots is a great guy, a GREAT shooter, and a legend when it comes to cut-rifled barrels. Norm Brux will tell you that "Boots has probably forgotten more about this business than any of us other barrel makers will ever know".

Stop it Scott, Your gunsmith needs barrels to work and the busier Ken and Norm are the longer it takes for me to get barrels. ;D

Brux is probably like Krieger & Bartlein in the respect that you can get either .236" or .237" bore when you order a 6mm blank.

I picked a Brux 1/2-off gift certificate from the prize table at the Berger SW LR Nationals last January - need to figure out what I need, and get it ordered. Most of my own experience has been with Kriegers & Bartleins, so I'm anxious to see how a Brux will compare.

Brux wouldnt make me a 237 bore 13.5 or 14 twist for a ppc barrel. I asked! Lee

HAHA!! I was thinking the same thing. This type of talk certainly isnt going to help us get our barrels any quicker is it. The more I think about it. Never mind guys I was just pulling every ones leg you don't want to use any Brux barrels they are horrible :)

I personally don't think .236 or .237 means a hill of beans. If you have a .237 and it shoots good, that is what you want. If you have a good barrel in either diameter just find the bullet that shoots in that particular barrel.

wow what a old thread. that 6.5x284 brux still shoots great. Jim @centershot put a brux on a stevens action with no nut in 6mmbr for a buddy of mine that is super accurate, so I didn't need to do any thinking what kind of barrel for a 338 build. Jim is putting a brux on a long action savage with no nut for me, hopefully before fall, but with no tags out west this year, all it will kill is paper. this year..... cliffe

I have shot Brux barrels for quite a while, I ordered my first barrel on a Monday and got on Thursday or Friday, since then I have ordered a bunch more for my own use. Recently I needed 5 non-standard contour 338 barrels in a major hurry for a military-funded program and they got them to me within a week. The program is a rapid development project to help out scout sniper teams with a critical piece of equipment, Brux stepped up to the plate to help us out and by helping us out help the guys in uniform out also. Vortex optics also helped out with a loaner Razor HD for the test unit. The razor HD is an outstanding scope.
