BRUX BARRELS

Hey all, Just wondering if anyone has heard of or uses brux barrels, there out of Lodi, WI. they offer hand lapped cut rifled barrels and just wonderin if there any good thanks.

bkmilw,

A lot of the guys shooting IBS 600 yd Benchrest in NC are shooting Brux barrels. Mike Davis shot a record with one, see there web site. If I were needing a barrel, I would get a Brux.

I've read a lot of good things about them so I ordered one. Came in yesterday. Looks good. Oh, 3 weeks from order to at my door! And Ken apoligized when I ordered it because they are running behind.

they are getting busier though! Told me 4 weeks turn around...I suspect as time goes by and more people discover that they are well made...their wait time will be like everyone else!

You won't go wrong with a BRUX. Those guys do quality work. You won't find a smoother, slicker bore. I have had one for two years and my son shoots it at 600 yards and does well. It is an 8 twist 6BR.

Went to their website the other day and picked up a virus warning. Someone ought to give them a call and ask them to fix it.

You can get into their website without any problem if you do www.bruxbarrels.com that is they only way to get into it at this time

i went to their website and got a virus warning also. hopefully they get that taken care of. they make a great barrel with less wait time and that a good thing. cliffe

I had that issue last week also but only if I used the link from a google search in which case I was redirrected to the virus page. Typing the web addresss in dirrectly or using any other link didn't caues the virus warning. By the way I was running Linux so there is no way there was a Windows virus causing me any problems.
Did you guys that got the virus warning using a Google search link for Brux?

James

Google & Firefox use some technology to steer people away from 'attack' sites... and at least once over the last week or so, the Google end of that was down - so Firefox was throwing up 'this is an attack site!' warnings all over the place, even for 'known good' sites. It got fixed in fairly short order, but it *did* occur. I'm guessing the people who say they got some sort of 'virus warning' from the Brux Barrels web site probably had the misfortune to visit during that time frame. All I can say for sure is that I've never had any problem w/ the Brux site... and I really need to get in gear and get my new Brux barrel sitting here to the range!

As a matter of fact I did get the virus warning off a google search. Glad to know it got fixed. I'll try again.

I am currently having a 7 Dakota Brux barrel installed on a Wby Mk V. My smith said he really prefers them so I went with his recommendation.

I`m waiting on a 4th to arrive. Great barrels, and great people running the operation. There are only 2 people employed, Mr. Brux, and Ken, so no mixups.

Well after all the reading about them, I bit the bullet and just placed a order for a 6mm 4 groove 1.250 28' SS for a new 6x6.5x47 Lapua project...
Seems like really nice folks to deal with..........
We'll see how the 4 weeks goes......

My gunsmith loves them. He offers Krieger & Shilen to his customers primarily. As we discussed the rebarrel he suggested Brux and stated that he has now installed them on his prairie dog & competition gun. I have to admit I like the idea of the cut rifling which Brux uses vs. button rifling.
