Browning B-78

Was .223 ever a B-78 chambering?

Danny
Yes in a Low Wall the same configuration as the new Winchesters except a much higher grade. One of my PD shooting friends had one and it was more accurate than a Remington varmint from the mid 90's. I think Browning came out with those things way before the shooting public was ready. Personally, I would like to see Winchester offer those in all calibers in two different grades. I like model 70 push feeds better than any Remington 700. Better safety that the home smith is not as likely to have one go off accidently, Jewel trigger available, just as easy to blueprint as a Remington. The Pre 64's had to go because of production expense. The Winchester name has been bought and sold so many times nobody knows who the last daddy was. John M obviously couldn't Manage his money or want to manufacture his design's. Winchester didn't designers with all their oars in the water. I guess we are lucky they came together. Definitely the US Government should be glad.
