Brass sticking in chamber

My f/l sized brass is starting to stick in the chamber after being fired. They work fine before firing. My question is this. The brass is lapau, but has been loaded many, many times. I've read that old brass will loose it's elasticity. Is this what is happening? The loads are not hot. Thanks tootalloutdors

Anneal a few of those cases and see if the problem goes away is what I would try.....
I never let any case go longer than 5 times before I reanneal them.

Yep. I read it and saved it in my favorites area. Sounds like the culprit. Time to learn how to do that this week-end. By the time I die perhaps I'll have this stuff figured out. I thought annealing was something for the really anal type to be doing. I didn't know it had to be done with time. My brass has been loaded 15 maybe 20 times...tootalloutdoors

I'm going to bet it is the case-head sticking, nothing else...it happens after many firings...case head grows constantly and you can't size the part that is sticking...I am going to guess annealing does nothing.

Does the bolt "click" on primary extraction, last ~10% of bolt movement on opening)?

If the case head is the problem them how about a small base sizer die to cure the problem.
After 15 times fired they really need annealing anyways.

O.K. annealing helped. I polished the chamber with steel wool and that helped alot. Not perfect though. I'm going to polish the chamber with some flitz stuff now. tootalloutdoors

DO NOT POLISH THE CHAMBER WITH FLITZ!

You are asking for trouble...chambers are NEVER mirror polished...you need some friction so the case grabs on and doesn't pound the bolt face too hard.
