brass grows at different rates.

I used new Lapua brass (308) and after ONE use I measured the brass length. There was a13 thou difference in length. Is this normal or does this mean I am a sloppy reloader?

When you fire a round for the first time it forms it to the chamber specs. What did you trim the new brass to before firing.

Did you measure the virgin brass before you fired them? The reason I asked is because when I did that to some batches, I found quite a variation for the brass OAL from the factory. I did not trim mine because they were all under 2.000"

It could be that some didn't form as good as others. The ones that didn't form fully would be longer. Matt
