Brass comparision

I am loading 6.5x55 swed Is a piece of RP brass at 29cents Primer pockets,flash hole, worked neck as good as a 60cent piece of Laupa brass not worked. I have a no turn neck chamber.

No.Lapua brass will last longer and take higher pressure.
There is nothing you can do to RP cases to make it "as good"....it's a matter of metallurgy.

Results when measuring brass neck wall thickness uniformity, using a tubing micrometer, 308 Win. headstamp. Lapua= .001" Max. Winchester= .003" Max. Remington= .0045" Max. I've had people offer to give me new, unfired Remington brass, and I've politely declined their offer.

It depends all on what one intends to do with the rifle and the capabilities of the rifle and shooter. In some cases, there is no difference and in others the Lapua brass will be significantly better.
