Brass and 7mm rsaum barrels

I have a couple of questions and I thought I would put them in the same post.

1st, I am wondering how much difference the brand of brass actually makes. Just getting into long range shooting but I have always loaded the same brand of brass but wondered if the brand made a difference. Aren't the wall thicknesses uniform within the same brand? Other that one brand having a better primer pocket, what is the difference?

2nd, I am ordering a 7mm RSAUM barrel and I have had a lot of people caution me about how these high velocity rounds eat barrels. How many rounds can one accurately put down range before they need to replace the barrel?

Different brands of the same caliber can be off a lot, same as different lot numbers can.
I've been shooting the 7mm SAUMs for quite a while and never burnt up a barrel yet.
My old 7mm SAUM hunting rifle has close to 1100, tossed through it and very little throat erosion in it....
I do not shoot it till it's hot to the touch though, and thats a big help..
I would rather have to replace a 7 mm SAUM barrel every few years than not have one at all.....

The rsaum is a great round they are a little harder on barrels then say a 284 .i removed last barrel at 1400 rounds pretty severely cracked I would say it had more to do with H 4350 then anything.still shot great but I was not taking it to camp perry.brass wise remington is great just unobtainable Norma is also good a little softer then nosler and remington.

Thanks so much for the help. I am excited to get my new barrel and also shooting this caliber...except for the recoil..lol I use to shoot a 700 BDL with a standard 7mm RM. I would assume that this one will be about the same since the loads are very similar.

I probably was not as clear as I should have been regarding the brass but does brass effect accuracy? If so, what is it that would cause this?

Burning Retumbo will extend barrel life. Much lower heat index than 4350's and 4831's and R22.
