BR2 or WLR primers with Magnum calibers?

Any issues with using BR2 or WLR primers with magnum calibers?

Specifically 300PRC?

The closest comparison i can find is BR2 with 300WM.

I'm planning on using H1000 with either WLR or BR2 with 225 ELD-M.

Necessary to use magnum primers?

Thanks!

i used br2 primer for my 300 win mag using h1000 and 225 eldm pills .just switched from them to 215m primers but didnt see any difference really in sd or fps when i switched shooting 1000 yards

Do you guys think the cups are softer, harder or the same when comparing new (brass colored) WLR & WLRM primers to the old silver ones? I know this is an older thread but hope to get some opinions. I will be using them in an Ackley Improved cartridge on an 06 case.

From searching this site and a bunch of the forums it sounds like Winchesters are the "hottest" LR primers. In the past I had some pretty flat Winchester brass colored primers, never any pierced primers but that was really early in my reloading days. I have shot quite a few old silver WLR in the same rifle and loads and the edges held up quite a bit better. Lots of factors influence this but I was just wondering if the hardness of the cup made this happen. Anyways, I am looking to start a fire in an Improved 06 case and don't think I need a magnum primer to get the fire going, but am not against trying them if need be. Just want to avoid premature pressure signs.

I use BR2 with RL33 and 175gr in 28 Nosler. Tested in -10°F with no issues.
I use gm210m with imr4831 and 168gr in 300wm...works great.
