Shooters
Like to see if any pellet shooters out there. Mike Sosenko and I shot BR Pellet for several years at Prado Olympic Range. A flood destroyed our equipment, 14' of water, and Prado wouldn't let us come back. Mike and I decided that when Angeles BR Range was completed we would try it again.
For most of you not familiar with the game we shoot at 20 yd with a target similar to rimfire. Where rimfire puts their money in ammo we put ours in great guns. I shoot a Walthar, Mike shoots an Anschutz or sometimes a Walthar. Worthwhile to buy better pellets they are reasonable. We use wind flags or ribbon for wind watching. Cleaning is done by shooting felt pellet blanks. Pellet takes your mind off centerfire competition for a while.
We use different targets depending on how the shooters vote. I like the bull without the dot. The dot gives a bonus score I am more competitive with no dot. Mike of course is one of the top dogs as he is all his shooting sports. He shot 2 perfect scores of 5000 in the same year. The scoring is tough no worst edge the shot has to be clean inside the bull to score a 100.
Everybody has some way of airing up their guns. I have a divers tank and air up to 2000 ft/lb. I liked the San Diego guys that shot with us they had small tanks that were connected to their guns to keep a constant pressure during the competition.
Another Shooting Sport where does it end, when you die or your pocketbook drys up. Mike and I also shot years of ATA and PITA trap. Next up someday my cast bullet stories, can't wait for that.
