BR Lower Bullet Weight(length) Limit with .104 Freebore

Hello,

I am wondering what the lightest bullet is that will work well and won't prematurely wear out the throat of a BR with .104 freebore.

TIA

I like the 80 & 88 gr. Berger flat base varmint bullets in my 6 BR when I'm not shooting 105's - My FB is very close to yours and the 80 & 88 gr. Bergers shoot well and there's no problem getting them up close or into the lands.

What powder and charge is working good with the 88 bergers in an 8 twist BRA? Are you using a slight jamb?

Little guns I use Varget...In the 243W I use IMR4064 as hot as the gun will take it...Note: IMR4064 it really varies gun to gun for top speed & accuracy...Be careful w both those med speed powders...Mike in Ct

In a "Standard" 6 BR, I ran 32.0 gr. of Varget jammed the 88 gr. Berger FB 0.005 in the lands and it shot very well and ran at around 3200 fps out of a 29" BBL. (Lapua Blue-Box Brass & a CCI 450 primer)

when using .080-.100 FB,,,,use Watson-Fowler style bullets with flat base and long bearing surface and LT-32,,,Roger
