I don't disagree. The cost of making brass and brass cases has increased and the cost effective manufacturing has changed reloading some cartridges. The company that manufacturers the case and the projectile can sell assembled cartridges and pass the combined savings to the shooter.Reloading is a hobby, not a business venture. If you are counting pennies maybe you need a different hobby.

However to package and sell just the brass case the costs goes up. The only brass I need is 6MM ARC, as I've decided to carry the 103 ELDX and I need to train with my rifle which in no way is cheap to feed it required thinking. I can buy the 105 for practice keeping the bras until,Inaquire enough brass. This is much cheaper than buying new brass and handloading. I then can handload with 103 ELDX for under 70 cents per round for future use.
It all started with wanting to load 9mm, had bullets, primers, powder but no empty cases.
So I figured I would just get some new 9mm brass.
That's when the title of this thread became evident. It costs almost as much to buy ONLY 9mm brass than it does for loaded ammo.
Instead of buying the brass I bought 1000 rounds of 9mm for $275.00 including tax and shipping. The price for 1000 pcs of unprimed brass is $240.00 shipped and I would have to add $100.00 for primers $100.00 for bullets and say $30.00 for powder PLUS my time. SCREW THAT.
I may have to take up gardening.
Dude. You really do need to learn how to shop. $45 once fired 9mm, free shipping, #1000:It all started with wanting to load 9mm, had bullets, primers, powder but no empty cases.

Is it really much cheaper? Or any cheaper at all? A quick component search shows if you buy new brass you can load 105's for about $35/20. Then you still have the brass to reload. Pretty much the same price as factory ammo. The difference is you can buy a quantity of the same lot of brass, and load the better 103 bullet from the start instead of the 105 factory round. And they're YOUR custom loads, not whatever the factory decided was best.I can buy the 105 for practice keeping the bras until,Inaquire enough brass. I looked and found 500 rounds of 6MM ARC in the 108 grain for $405 available today, ttime 81cents plus shipping. I bought the 103 ELDX for $51, primers at 10 cents + 12 cents for powder, that’s 73 cents plus time.Is it really much cheaper? Or any cheaper at all? You need to do some searching. Two quick searches on ammoseek and I was able to find 103's for 35 cents each and Grendel brass for 80 cents each.I looked and found 500 rounds of 6MM ARC in the 108 grain for $405 available today, ttime 81cents plus shipping. When I bought my 105's I spent $1.18 per round. I found new brass at $1.21, + shipping.
$1.21 + 51,+ 10,+ 12 that $1.94 a piece to load from new brass, 81 cents a piece for 500 new cartridges, reloading my used brass is 73 cents per round.
Single box cost of the lowest cost 105 grain match is $1.50 per round + shipping, reloading less than half the cost of boxed ammo.
However with reloading I can load the amount I need not fork out $405+ shipping to get a low per round cost. Certainly not WHT it used to be but reloading cost less on the surface but never was really less expensive, we shoot more or maybe shoot better quality comments.
$35 for 100 of the 103 grain ELDX. That's tough to believe. I don't want Grendel brass, I'll just have to do it the hard way.You need to do some searching. Two quick searches on ammoseek and I was able to find 103's for 35 cents each and Grendel brass for 80 cents each.
It's not hard.... Literally took me 30 seconds.$35 for 100 of the 103 grain ELDX. That's tough to believe. I don't want Grendel brass, I'll just have to do it the hard way.

You don't purchase from AmmoSeek, it's just a crawler that shows you who has the best prices. Same way most of us have been finding in stock powder and primers the past few years via a different crawler. The below disclaimer is frommtheir website.

I can tell you for a fact I haven't encountered any scam sites on there and I have purchased from Red River Reloading which is the second site listed there at 35.5 cents each. You can use the resources available or you can keep paying almost 50% more for bullets. A few minutes of work can save lots of money.
I have but never at full price and never 9mmIn the 50+ years of reloading I have never bought brand new brass. It kind of kills the whole idea of saving money by reloading.
All fees are from GB and not the sellerAny thing I have seen cheap one n ammo seek, they charge a bunch for shipping and handling to off set the cheap listing price of the item.
I have noticed this kind of bait a lot lately. One buddy told me GB came up with some kind of new fee, may be the seller and not GB.
