Bought a rifle today, 6x45 what can you tell me about this?

I have two - one AR and one on a model 7 action. Both 8 twist. Very accurate with a wide range of bullets and powders.

The 6x45 is a pleasure and a hoot to shoot. Super mild and performs way out of context to its size.

Some reading on the subject

That's where I found the load data mentioned.

Some reading on the subject

Went to the link and was reading the posts, there are some links on that site to PDF files that are virus infected. Use caution...
The link on page 13 labeled "drive.google.com bla bla bla" does open and work. Same PDF file Bc'z posted above.

That is one round that punches above its weight. You basically get 50-100fps more than a .223rem with 10gr more bullet mass. So (just as an example to make the point) if you got 3300fps with a 55gr boat tail in a .223rem you can expect that you'll be able to find a load that'll give you 3400 with a 65gr boat tail in a 6x45. The bore is just wider enough than the .223 that you can stuff in a bit more go juice without seeing pressures go too high. I was running 60-65gr at 3200fps on a max charge of BL-C(2) and a magnum primer. Man I miss that barrel.

AA2200 with 55’s-65’s if your a speed freak. I got acceptable accuracy with speed. When I say acceptable, it will stay 1/2MOA out to 200 when I do my part.
I can get a bit better, but I want “splat factor” ;-).

I bought a complete AR upper a while back in that caliber. This reminded me I need to dig it out and put a lower on it. The guy I got it from gave me several pages of load data for it all the way up to 100g. I need to dig that out as well and print it off.

Consider a 6-204, speed demon plus accuracy...stay tuned. I will be posting groups and speeds in a couple of weeks. Too windy to shoot groups now,.

I had a X Caliber 1:8 screwed onto a model 12 Savage for a while, shooting 95 gr. SMK's with a mid range load of IMR 4895 it shot in the mid .2-.3 consistently. Shocked an awful lot of people. Load work up wasn't that hard but everything has to be just right for good results on the target.

Ok, I have the rifle in my hands and already ordered a replacement stock from Urbanrifleman on here. So just wanting to see how it shoots I installed my Nightforce competition and threw together a load from that data that Bc'z posted. Shooting 65gr Berger boat tail and 26.3gr of IMR8208XBR and just set them at .040 jump it shot this 10 shot group at 300 yards! No load development or nothing. A couple of those shots was me messing with scope dials but the bulk is an inch or so, orange dot is 1 inch. Pretty happy with it! (rifle pics coming soon)

I have a 6x45 scoped AR. 24" 1:7.5 Green Mountain barrel, varmint contour (prior barrel was a similar Bartlein, very accurate). 70 SMK at 3100 fps MV, 90 Berger BT Target at 2700 fps (these two using H4895, and D&H Tactical 10 round mags with the front cut out for 5 rounds), and 107 SMK at 2650, using Varget, loaded 0.010" back of the lands.

I have a 1-10 BHW 24", I also window the front of magazine for longer COAL.
I'm looking at SWP load data for 556 80gr, considering trying it under a 80gr Bart's Dominator.
Thoughts?
