boring bar for cutting lug abadments

What boring bars do you guys use to recut the lug abadments on a rem 700? I have some cheap 1/2" and 3/4" shank carbide boring bars but dont know if these are the best to use?

I have a 1/2 HSS bar with carbide indexable inserts that I use on my lathe when I do mine. Just be careful on the larger bars to keep from hitting the back side of the bar on the opening as you draw across and down to the bolt diameter. But for how far a half inch bar needs to be sticking out its plenty ridged enough for a skim cut since the bar will usually only be sticking out like an inch or so.

I like the 5mm solid carbide from Grizzly. It uses a Mitsubishi insert and cuts excellent. Works good for crowns and brakes too.

I just looked those up and they look really nice.

I use a carbide bar with carbide insert. Presently I use PH Horn 114 series previously I used Kenmetal. Both are excellent and leave a mirror finish I cut at about 600 RPM with coolant flush through the boring bar. I prefer a carbide bars and use the shortest you can fit
