Borescopes and examples

With all the borescope talk. Id like to see videos, pictures ect of examples of good, ok, and bad shot out barrels. I have no idea what to look for, just looking to learn and not highjack other threads.

Post up your bore scope pictures and videos with explainations!!

I used 50/50 mix of CLR/water on a tight fitting patch wrapped around a Parker Hale jag and made around 10 passes in each direction for the first few inches, then a couple long passes to the muzzle, then out. I had been working to get this barrel clean for a few days so was keen to see the result with the CLR. I dry patched and then put the bore scope down to take the pic's. I will have to go back and scrub the length of the barrel based on the results I got at the chamber with the CLR.

Martin, thank you for the reply. I wonder if any competitive BR shooters have used CLR over the life of a good barrel and feel it is or is not detrimental to the life or accuracy of a barrel.

View attachment 1178056 Here are 3 pics (video didn't work) of a newly reamed 20VarTarg "throat" (Henriksen reamer) in a PacNor 3-groove 1:9" twist barrel. This, and observing cleaning results are about all a bore-scope is good for - it won't tell you much about red, above. Even a nice looking "throat" is not much indication - just makes one, "feel good" regarding the effort.
Cleche, cleche: I've had barrels which appear to have been, "rode hard an put up wet" for a long time, "just keep on ticking", and others show [relatively] little wear and, "keep on ticking", and others which, though they look(ed) great, "just didn't cut it".:D

Edit: my gripes regarding Teslong: 1) too much light! 2) no swivel connector - much nicer to turn the barrel . . . but, for $50 what can expect! I believe, that since introduction, they have some improvements available. The image quality is every bit as good as my old Hawkey. Bear in mind, these are pics of a computer screen, and they still don't look too shabby!:)RG
