Bore scope

I have a Bergara Premier 6.5 PRC Its a 1/2MOA capable rifle if I do my part . I usually use wipe out or Sweets 7.62 for copper removal Butches bore shine for carbon, Cleaned bbl up using Butches and Sweets, looked down the bore a few times thought it looked sweet. Then I ran a bore scope that I wi fi into my I phone .BBL was loaded with copper and carbon . Now it's gonna soak overnight in wipe out and its accelerator. Who out there use a Bore scope and have you changed your BBL cleaning methods ?

Yes, but not so much the brand of solvent, I've tried a few. The BS taught me to clean the barrel at the end of each day's competition and not let the carbon harden up producing black streaks in the grooves that are almost impossible to remove once established.

Using a bore scope usually causes one to re-evaluate their cleaning process, the solvents used, etc. Numerous threads on which solvent or process is the best with no real consensus. It's fun (well, kinda sorta) to experiment with different solvents and processes, but it also gets old and disappointing when something doesn't work like you read on the web. I'm about to settle on using Rem 40x on a periodic basis to remove the stubborn stuff. It's easy to use once you get past the good bottle shaking you should do (IMO) to get the stuff mixed up. Lots of people favor the J&B/Iasso (?) paste to remove the stubborn stuff.

Recently got a Teslong scope so I could photograph the bore, and it is revealing!

I always start with Bore Tech Carbon remover, then Bore Tech Copper remover. If there is still stuff in the bore, I go to the JB.
JB bore paste on a bronze brush to remove all that carbon, and it also removes copper.

Have Bartlien bbls and its recommended no paste cleaners and no brushes .... That's a very clean bbl,but does it need to be that clean to shoot good ?

That barrel happens to be a Bartlien, and it cleaned up well with the JB. Every barrel maker has a different story on their barrels (which in general they all make from the same stainless steel alloy) so I treat them all the same.

Does it have to be that clean? I don't know, but I like them as clean as I can get them. Shooting "good" is a relative term. I can miss a prairie dog, and shoot again, if I'm shooting .3's and the other guys are shooting .2's in a benchrest match I'm just one of the losers.
