does anyone have any experience with the teslong bore scope. thanks. bryant.

YouTube link ?? Thanks for your input. This is what I have been using for about 3 years now. It has a 45 degree angle mirror but after I used once I never used it again. It as a 1 meter fiberoptic cable although some come with a 3 meter cable. Mine fits in a 22 caliber bore without much room to spare. I only use it for checking for barrel cleaning, and rifling when I buy a new barrel. I'm not a gunsmith so it works well enough for me. The fact that is not fragile is big plus. It will record pictures and videos, but the quality is fairly mediocre. I have YouTube video out there if someone is interested.

Here. Its a 32" barrel and it can go all the way throught he action to the end of the barrel. Some of the best money I've spent was on this borescope. You'lll quickly see that some of the claims made by people here regarding cleaning of a barrel are nonsense.
I don't know I just mainly want to check the chamber area 1st 10 inches and the crown and locking lug area, it does well enough for those. I would love to have a hawkeye, but I don't shoot comp I really didn't need the Lyman but I done some throating and wanted to see how big a mess I made, plus I can check reloading dies and my teeth lol, have a great day JoeSteve,
Just curious, but what advantages does a lyman 20" rod have over the flexible 36" cable of the Teslong unit? Does the rod have a glass tube inside or a fiberoptic filament? Is it worth the extra $70-80?

Thanks. I figured it was something like that. Interesting video. It makes me interested in that borescope. It's a piece of cotton thread from my cleaning patches.
Believe it or not, more often than not, 1 or 2 little pieces like thart get left behind. They've never been an issue for me. I shoot F-Open and I'm more worried about the heat generated by the 7SAUM 180 grain bullet going at 3,000+ fps. I'm pretty sure that little threat doesn't stand a chance of slowing things down.

Yes, bought one of Larry Willis's units for my son around a eighteen MOs ago. It's a decent unit, for what it does. Good adjustable light and long cable, but no 90* mirror. Good picture on screen and is fine for general bore inspections.Has anyone one used the one that Larry Wills has for sale on his site
.@Just Dave -
I bought the "NTS150B", which is advertised on Teslong website as 5.1mm
It measures a hair more then .217" (+5.5mm) diameter with my micrometer.

.Okay... got the Teslong charged up and played with it a bit. So here is some review:
- Very clear picture is displayed on the LCD screen, better then my Lyman - IMO
- Zooms to 1X, 2X, 3X, 4X - very clear on them all.
- Lighting is the best I've seen, from 6 LED's in the camera head that have 3 intensity settings (low, medium, high). Even on low I would say its better then my Lyman.
- With the 90-degree mirror accessory on, what I would call a very high quality image appears on the LCD screen. Very nice and much better then my Lyman - IMO
- Haven't messed with the camera or video capturing yet, and need to get a TF memory card for it.
Downfalls:
- With the accessory ends on the Probe, it will be more limited to how small a caliber they can be used in.
Here are my own diameter measurements for the accessories and a picture of them and the probe shaft:
View attachment 1026321
- .23785” = thread protector
- .25570” = magnetized thread protector
- .24770” = Probe stop/protector
- .24865” = 90-degree mirror
- .21705” = Probe shaft diameter, without a thread protector, stop, or mirror
Without any accessory on the Probe shaft, it should work to about 0.218" bores.
With all the accessories, they will not fit into any caliber smaller then .257", which is a major disappointment to me since my primary caliber is .243/6mm.
I plan on contacting Teslong about the issue of the accessory diameters and also to see if I can get extra accessories, so that I can attempt to "turn down" the thread protector and the mirror, to under .236 diameter so that I can use them in my .243/6mm barrels (.236/.237" bores).
All for now,
Donovan
