Bore Guide for 82G

Does anybody make a bore guide that really fits a Kimber 82G? I bought one some time ago that was supposed to fit, but it only goes into the receiver a short distance before being stopped by the ejector, well short of the breech.

For the guide to work you need to remove the loading platform. If you haven't removed it before, be careful when trying the take out the screw--it may be real tight and it is easy to strip the slot. Some shooters have replace the screw with either a hex or star head the make the removel easier. I use a set of small needle nose pliers to steady the screw when I reinsert it.

I bought a guide for my 82G from Dan Killough at Killough Shooting Sports. I do not remove anything other than the bolt when using it. The guide does not cover the loading port area as it gets stopped by the ejector. However, the guide does support and align the cleaning rod such that damage to the barrel by the rod is minimized.

That's what's happening with the one I have now (Possum Hollow?--can't remember for sure.) I use it with a .20 cal. carbon fiber rod and tip adapter to accept .22 accessories, but I'd really like to have one that fully supports the rod to the chamber. Is it a hopeless quest?
