Bore cleaner

It depends on what you are calling "clean" and how you are checking it...if getting a few dirty patches out and holding the muzzle up to a light while looking thru the breech and seeing what appears to be bright shiny bore......then they all work just fine.
People that don't own a borescope will tell you anything, like a lot of others on here, most of which is a guess. I have tried them all and bore cleaners either work great or do little of nothing. If the bore is really puked up with copper either JB Bore Cleaner {not JB Bore Bright} or the Remington bore cleaner with the little rattle ball in the bottle are two that work great. They work, and they work fast. Once the bore is clean and stops fouling I like Shooters Choice MC-7. I have had zero luck using any of the so called "brushless" types...I liken them to household cleaners that are "safe" or "environmentally friendly" and usually have some color in their name...simple red, happy green, incredible orange...sorry, they DO NOT work, don't waste your money.

I use Butch's to get copper and most of the soft carbon. I clean very rarely compared to most here - every 100+ rounds.
Every 500+ I'll do a few passes with Iosso bore paste to get the harder carbon out of the chamber area.

two-three patches of Bore-tech carbon cleaner, dry patch followed by six-ten patches of bore tech copper cleaner, until no more blue patches. After the first two patches of copper cleaner, wait 15-30 minutes between patches before running another wet patch down the bore. Easy and gets all the fouling out. Best part, the Bore-tech does not eat your lungs out, can use in an enclosed space.

I have a bunch of stuff here. Wipe out, Hoppe's, Barnes , Shooters Choice, Butches, MPro 7, Sweets and a few more.. Not a competition shooter, but after a day or two of Pdawg blastin I clean.. I usually use Sweets or Butches and then Hoppes. Also have some carbon cleaner that is used, then finally the Hoppes..
Funny we are talking about this. Last night cleaning my 204 I spilled Butches all over.. Later the wife kept complaining it smelled like guns upstairs.. I went to bed and she was still carping. She checked my britches and the Butches had gotton on one leg.. Into the wash they go...Me, I kinda like the smell of "guns" ..

+2 for Bore Tech products, they work great for me.
We're up to +3 for Bore Tech. Eliminator is great stuff - no smell, non-toxic, won't stain, won't damage a stock finish, won't etch metal if you let it sit and it does a GREAT job on copper. Of late I've been using CarbOut for carbon fouling but Bore Tech's carbon cleaner is very good, too.
I much prefer Eliminator to ammonia-based cleaners and it's much easier to handle. Get your nose too close to an open bottle of Montana Extreme 50 BMG and you'll be up all week.
This will make a lot of people mad, but if you think about it...it is the truth and the truth usually hurts...It should be a requirement for guys that are endorsing bore cleaners and blasting about how great they are to also list which borescope they own.
Kind of like the guy the other day that was telling us how Unertl scopes were assembled...I ask him when he worked there and he got his panties in a knot. He then proceeded to "set things straight" by telling us that he wrote the third most important paper in the world on eyeglass repair and he owns 7 scopes. Well, that certainly qualifies!!!
Whatever you are searching for, you first need a credible witness. I am not saying you cant get a bore clean by scrubbing it enough...you can do that with just a rag and a cleaning rod. What I am saying is that unless you have a way to positively check the inside of the bore then like the guy with the scope...you are guessing.

I own the new Lyman bore cam and have been shooting some 198's in 1,000yard F-tr using Bore-tech cleaning solutions.
Not claiming it to be the best, it's just what I have come to use, after using many others products in the past 30 years of shooting. I am very happy with the results.
I think the OP would appreciate more positive responses to his inquiry.

Not sure this qualifies for " blasting about how great " bore tech is but I like it and they work for me. I do not own a scope but my shooting buddy does and it's used pretty often.

I gave up on Boretech cleaners. They work some, don't get me wrong, they just work too slowly for my tastes. Even after a week of non-stop cleaning and soaking, the borescope still shows carbon and/or copper (when present).
Let me qualify my observations: I shoot F-Open and I typically shoot 80-120 rounds between cleanings.
My cleaning method has evolved somewhat as I've gained more experience with my Hawkeye (I've had it 2 years now). I now use Ed's Red for primary cleaning. Why? It is inexpensive and works just as well as Boretech Carbon Cleaner. After I finish with that, I clean it out completely and use KG12 to remove any copper I see. Following that, a full borescope inspection is done to determine if JB is needed to remove hard carbon.
What I don't do is clean to shiny-bright every cleaning. It is counter productive in my recent findings.
I finish with Ed's Red again and a dry patch - It is a good oil for first-shot lube.

Give Bore Tech Inc. a call there cleaners are biodegradable and you can let them in the barrel until you go shoot the next time.

Bought a used 30-06 for a build and decided to clean the barrel and see if it was salvageable. I ran a couple patches of Eliminator to get the heavy junk out then brake cleaner, then sat with Wipe Out until the next day. Hawkeye showed lots of stuff left so I patched and bronze brushed with Eliminator and C4 and still had carbon and copper. Used the KG carbon with the brush and it came out black. Then hit it with the KG copper and the barrel looks brand new, like it's never been shot, certainly it had never been cleaned. I normally use Boretec , sometimes going from copper to carbon and repeating until clean but it seemed to not get this barrel clean although it works on my others. On a side note the top layer of skin on the finger tips of my left hand died and came off the next day. I think after I took my gloves off I touched the cleaning rod before I wiped it off. I'm pretty sure it was the KG.
Gunslick Foaming Bore Cleaner. Bore scope was a borrowed Hawkeye.
Two 30 Minute soaks, patched out after each. Bore scope displayed no remaining fouling.
This was used on a pair of 28" .260 Rem barrels, loaded with 142SMK's and H-4350, following each of several 1Kyd F-Open Matches with about 60rd fired per barrel.
Finished cleanings with a light coating of Hoppe's Oil.
