I am trying to decide between a BRM and BRMXD action for a build. Are there good reasons to go with the XD for an F-open rifle chambered in 6.5X47? I will be hanging a 30" straight pipe on the action.

Also, should it be ordered with a port for the 6.5 Lapua family or go up to the .284 family opening? Not sure how much room is available to pull out the spent case by hand if the ejector is removed.

Please chime in if you have used them or built rifles on those actions.

The biggest difference is diameter. Either one is plenty to hang a 30" barrel from. I would get the bigger port just so you can use the 284 case down the road.
