Thanks Dan-- its hard for me to get through when I call out there as they dont know me yet. Im getting ready to email them and thats why i asked the question. The bolt/handle is timed.........correctly.
It's the striker to sear hand off that should be the concern.
Call Jim & ask your trigger group question.
He may prefer to install a NEW trigger group instead of 1 that has been molested.
Thanks Tim- I was planning on a Jewell but am now thinking I should take a deep breath and try a BnA. I will try to talk myself into itI recieved mine about 3 months ago
I sent Jim a BnA to install so the pin fall was where he wanted it
Glad I did.
Thanks Alex --Thats the info I need.I use quite a lot of them and have yet to have one not timed well with a Bix. I do usually have to tweak them a little with a Jewell. Any smith can do it. Its as simple as removing material from the cocking piece until the bolt closes smooth, just maintain the 30 degree angle on the cocking piece. It will be very close from the factory so it wont take much if any.
No problem, just so everyone is clear that advice on working the cocking piece only applies to Borden actions. Thanks Alex --Thats the info I need.
