Had some factory Remington 6rem ammo blow primers on the edge radius, just a few rounds of that was enough to cut the bolt face.

Simple fix. Go buy a brand New Rifle.. Problem solved.

My mistake rewind I googled primer cup material and it said cci had brass cups. I guess they just look like steel. They always seemed harder. Doug

Winchester primers

I think Win holds the record for defective primers. Mostly WLR. But 2 years ago, some 2000 WSPM i had were defective. Win sent a check much later. The money did NOT cover my replacement cost.

Light, medium loads, didnt make a difference. M28-2 checked out ok.

I think they are Ni plated brass.

Thanks for all the replies.I did not post up pics because the gun is not mine and i dont think i would appreciate someone doing that to me, especially this day and age.
I requested more pics of the bolt and, it to my eyes looks to have a crack running across the bolt face above the firing pin.Ive asked them to exame this closely for me?????
Boltfluter ive requested additional pics, including the lugs.
