bolt face

just wondering, if i were going to buy a rifle and have it rebarreled and chambered for 6br what would be the best caliber of rifle to buy as far as the bolt face. sorry if this seems to be a stupid question i am sure i probably missed this somewhere, but anyhow what bolt face is needed for the 6br?

.308 bolt face is what you want. .243, .22-250, .260, all the same. You don't want a .223 or any of the belted mags.

30-06 Bolt face will work, but the action will be very long for the short BR.

I agree, look for a short action for the BR family. Sometimes the 308 bolt face is called .473

Consider having the firing pin tip reduced to 1/16 " and the firing pin hole in the bolt face bushed to fit the smaller diameter firing pin. With out this you may have cratering or blanking in your fired primers with higher pressure loads.
