Bolt face trueing

What are you guys useing to true up the bolt faces in your lathe. Hss carbide. Boring bars etc
I have ground a hss cutter but just wanting to know what most of what you guys use. Thanks

with CCMT inserts. Sharp as a cats claw. I use this little bar all the time. Great for crowns and pre-bore activity as well.

If you are doing stock remmy bolts you will need to get behind the extractor. So be prepared to grind your own tool. A bought boring bar won't work without modifying it.

I put an M16 extractor in, so it wasn't a problem for me.

If you don't fit the bolt to the receiver bore it is a waste.

I just recently did the bolt face on my Mauser Project. I just ground a simple carbide tool.
By the way. I turn the chuck by hand and let it feed out. I doubt I took much more than .001 off the face.
