With as much as your post machining picture magnifies the end product, that is really exceptional machining.

The key for me to surface finish is sharp tooling. I have a baldor diamond tool sharpening grinder. --Jerry

Jerry when you do one that is that bad and make it look so good , do you remove enough metal to change the headspace?

2 ways to do it. I can make an oversized bushing to maintain headspace. Or I can take off .005 to .008" from the bolt face which affects the headspace and the primary extraction. I recommend the oversized bushing but I have to charge more for it. --Jerry

It looks like that first failed attempt was done with a punch and hand drill to be that far off center and no clean up.
