Boise,ID area FFL/gunshops

Hi All-

My daughter who lives in Boise, ID tells me she wants a target rifle.

I'm looking for a dealer with good transfer prices that's easy to work with. I'm thinking it would be easier to have her buy/get an action transferred to her (in her name) rather than me getting one here in CA and then having to do an intrafamilial transfer. I'll get it built from there.

I can do a Google search and find dealers, that doesn't tell me if they're easy to work with or
a pompous ass. I don't want my daughter to have to deal with that. Looking for recommendations here. Thank you.

If cliff's is still around he was good to do business with.

When I was there about six years ago he had a good selection of target and varmint rifles. He had coopers and some custom stuff. New and used.

I have dealt with Cliff a bit and avoid that shop when I can. There are a few gun shops I would put you on to. You can try 'Boise Gun Company'...and just outside of town is 'Midstar' gunshop...both of these have instore gunsmithing available, tho I would guess Midstar has more complete smithin shop. There are more but either of these 2 can prolly do what you need...

I have done a dozen or more transfers with Boise Gun Co. The owner Gary and his Son Jason are a pleasure to do business with. Second would be Cliffs Guns and GunSafes , Cliff is a member of the gun club I belong to, and donates firearms and goods to our junior shooters during an annual shoot we have every June. Use one of those 2 and your good to go.

Some People avoid Cliffs because he over prices things! Like $25.00 for 50 rdsof Eley 10x

Thank you guys. I’ll give Boise Gun Co. & Cliffs’ a call & see what they say.

I’m not worried whether a person or shop has inventory or not. I will get an action ordered & just need a hassle free FFL transfer for her.

Boise Gun Co. is a reputable business I wouldn't go to Cliffs if he was the only one in town!!

+1 on that. He has no qualms about gouging every customer that walks through the doors. A bottom feeder if ever there was one. Steer clear of him at all costs.
