Body die not sizing close to base, please suggest

Just a little update,
Talked to my smith and he polished back of the chamber a thou or so and problem is gone.

I got a new barrel, my gunsmith chambered it with a different reamer this time(Bisely).

Your gunsmith can not tell you the diameter of the chamber? Your gunsmith can not tell you the length of the chamber from the shoulder to the bolt face? I am sure I missed it but I do not know what chamber and or dies you are talking about. I have RCBS 30/06 dies that will keep every case that is shoved into them. To make those dies look good I have to use a no name case lube. I also have RCBS dies that are labeled BAR. RCBS BAR dies were designed for Browning Automatic Rifles, The Bar dies will not work miracles but they are small base dies.

Again, the deck height of the shell holder is .125" meaning the die does not size the bottom .125" of the case head. If my case does not fit my chamber I measure the determine the case at the web and body. And then there are chamber gages.

And then I called Redding and ask them how is it possible to size the body of the case without shoulder support? If it was possible to size the case without shoulder support the shoulder would be pushed forward and take on a slight radius at the shoulder.

Off topic sort of , when using a ring die it is used before full length or shoulder bump , otherwise it will make the case taller , thereby increasing headspace . ( sometimes )

If used after FL or bump sizing, it makes the case taller (which it does) then it reduces the headspace, not increases it.

Wait headspace is the measure from bolt face to x point ( datum , bolt face etc ) so if I make the case longer I'm , I'm confuse , too much heat , 93 deg and 87 percent humidity .

I'm not, my chambers have head space, my cases do not have head space I off set the length of the chamber with the length of the case. The difference between my chamber and the case when measured from the normal places give me clearance.

Right . So using a ring die would increase the case measurement from base end to datum line . I know , I know , point is it would be longer ( usually) after using ring die .

I ran into this with my 6 ppc. I used a full length body die for a 30 06.
No sholder bump there. I believe the print showed .0012 smaller. Right or wrong it worked for me.

You'll be getting solutions for your now nonexistent problem for two more weeks!

Starting with fresh brass would not have been a cure, because you still would not have had a body die that would allow you to bump shoulder and reduce web diameter minimally but allow easy chambering. Your choices were a) open chamber up a bit, or b) get a custom die.

I'd be asking the question of why a Bisley die is so tight around the web area. The ones I've seen are generally more generous than say a '95 Palma.

I think you mean reamer/chamber.

I'm not sure why but with chamber opened up a bit, die is sizing case slightly smaller then chamber now hence no more stuck cases

He could mean "die". If a Bisley [spec] reamer is tighter, then so too would be a Bisley [spec] die.

Honestly I have never heard of a Bisely spec die, doesn't mean it doesn't exist .
I was using standard Redding body die

And I never heard of a Bisley spec reamer. But a SAAMI die assumes a SAAMI chamber (i.e. reamer), so ...

Right or wrong? I do not know, If I did that I do not believe the case would touch the die. In the perfect world there is .027" difference in diameter between the 30/06 and 6PPC. The 30/06 case head is .470" in diameter, the 6PPC is .433.

It is worst than I thought, I still do not believe the case would touch the die. I am sure Link did something but the case was not a 6PPC or the die was not a 30/06.

My calculator? Years ago there was a company called Pilgrims Pride Chickens. They spoke a different language, employees called the place PickUm with Pride. Anyhow one of them offered to sell me a cackelater. I asked if he meant to say calculator instead of cackelator? The answer was no then he explained basically there was not much difference and it was all but impossible to determine the difference. So I had to ask "What is the difference?" He explained the cackelator was used to count chickens.

If a die is custom made for your Bisley chamber, it's [drum roll] ... a Bisley die!
