Hillary ain't in jail, so leave me to hell alone!
mikecr,
So, do you think sorting with the BG gives a reasonable indication of the ogive radius being consistent, within the sorted groups?
I trim and point with Hoover tools, both of which, I believe (but might be wrong about the point up die), index ~ off of the "ogive". I understand that trimmed and possibly pointed meplat diameters may still vary. I also don't know a good way to precisely measure meplat diameters or ogive radii.
I like the BG because with it, once my seater is set virtually all bullets of a single sort seat to the same CBTO and I can easily adjust to the next sort.
I might be wrong about this, as well but I feel like sorting with the BG, as with base to ogive, or bearing surface length gives an indication that bullets within a single sort group may be uniform in other ways, as well. I know that is not proved without measuring all the other aspects.
